Montvale NJ, According to Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali, a pivotal court date in the fight against fourth-round affordable housing deadlines is set for Friday, December 20, 2024. The hearing will determine whether a stay can be granted while the case moves through the court system.

Key Details on the Hearing

  • Date: Friday, December 20, 2024
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Location: Livestreamed on the New Jersey judiciary website (View Here)
  • Presiding Judge: Robert T. Lougy

Montvale’s legal team will present oral arguments to justify a stay on these high-density housing mandates that have sparked widespread concern.

Why This Matters

Mayor Ghassali has emphasized the need for neighboring towns, including Emerson, Park Ridge, Woodcliff Lake, Upper Saddle River, and Saddle River, to actively participate in this legal battle. These communities also face increasing pressures from high-density affordable housing requirements but have yet to join Montvale in the lawsuit.

A Call to Action for Residents

Residents in these towns are encouraged to reach out to their mayors and council members to inquire why their municipalities are not part of the lawsuit. Collaboration across local governments could play a crucial role in addressing these significant challenges.

Stay Informed

Be sure to tune into the livestream at 10:00 AM on Friday to follow the proceedings and stay updated on how this decision may impact Montvale and the surrounding areas.

  1. Grow a spine mayor vagianos and join the fight!

    1. you voted for the wrong guy lol

    2. the council are the same people who pushed the last unplanned poorly executed housing in the CBD

    3. the problem is your live here

  2. I have to laugh , this council is BOUGHT AND PAID FOR

  3. You’ll have to deal with this regardless who you voted for. We know the culprits but it makes no difference. It is the voters fault. The destiny of this town is a highly dense run of the mill NYC neighborhood with much less green areas, a lot more high density buildings, a lot more air and noise pollution, traffic is already a nightmare, dog poop everywhere is becoming a normal phenomenon… all city symptoms. The only alternative for those against this reality (incl me) is to leave or just put up with it as a fact of life. It’s been over for a while now for RW and plenty of other NYC buyers towns.
    This is the simple truth.

    1. Accurate.

    2. Glen Rock isn’t far behind.

Don’t depend on our historic Democrat check the box council to stand up for us. If they had their way, we would have had Tammy…….
