Glen Rock NJ, a Huntington Station man has been charged with making threats against the lives of a local family in Glen Rock, according to police. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old John D. Joyce, was charged in late August and has since been released under New Jersey’s bail reform laws.
Joyce was charged on August 20 with one count of third-degree terrorist threats by Detective Sergeant Jim Calaski, the Glen Rock Police Department confirmed on Monday. The charge was brought after a report was filed alleging that Joyce had made threats against the lives of a Glen Rock resident and their family. The threats reportedly stemmed from a financial dispute.
Police said evidence was provided to support the claims that Joyce intended to carry out the threats. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Joyce was released on his own recognizance, in accordance with bail reform protocols, while awaiting a court appearance.
Joyce is scheduled to appear before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack on Friday, September 13.
As this case unfolds, local residents are encouraged to stay informed and vigilant. Further updates will be provided as the legal process continues.
