Confusion over the Ridgewood school district’s lunch payment system has left some parents frustrated in recent weeks.
The automated lunch payment system is sending repeated emails to Ridgewood High School (RHS) parents this summer, stating they have an outstanding balance for food their children purchased in school. Some parents are disputing those bills.
In response, Ridgewood school administrators said the district’s “help desk” is addressing the parents’ concerns, and next year, various improvements will be put into place.
Meanwhile, some confusion persists. RHS parent Helane Muhlstock said she has received “definitely more than five” emails from the school saying that she owes a negative figure of “-$11.50.” RHS parents Sharon Simoncini and Genny Allard received several emails saying they owed “-$2.40.”
