Ridgewood NJ, Resident Jackie Hone reminded me this morning of this video done by Dana Glazer . The plan still stands for a field at Schedler. Pay close attention to what is said about the toxic fumes. A doctor spoke against this plan at a recent meeting. Why then is the committee and Council saying yes to a field? Would you allow your children to play here? Full plan in comments.
Couldn’t agree more. Sell it. A Starbucks would look great there.
Winograd or any family member should not have been on that committee. Because they did not reveal their extreme conflict of interest, all conclusions drawn by that committee should be scrapped. The council should reprimand and dismiss him. Shocking and grotesque to be so used by a fellow resident.

Hache did not tell tell the truth. After he was voted in , he said he walked Schedler and it would not be appropriate for a sports field. Knudsen and Sedon also said that. Because they want the votes of the sports people they are changing, thinking because the field is 50 instead of ninety feet they can please everyone. Well, eagles have been seen their, Knudsen admits that. They leave with human activity, and their chances for survival are slim when they leave their nests. Google bald eagle habitats. Plus the trees themselves and other wildlife. Natural areas at a minimum here already.
And Hache, Sedon and Knudsen will win next election time too, because most people will be satisfied.

The current council find that they like sitting on the dais very much. They will sell their souls to do so. Selling out on Schedler means they will get reelected. They don’t need their signs in front of my house anymore on my busy street when they run for reelection. The moral of the story is sad: There is no honesty or keeping your word or sticking to principles you believe in. Jane Goodall, you will have to give up hope for the human species.

What is so toxic if they build the field is it the pollution from the cars or something in the ground
This video is well done and gets right to the point. A ballfield does not belong here.
Just keep re-posting this video when it comes up for discussion. The RBSA are not doing what’s best for the kids in pushing for this land grab.
Would the RBA and Council bring in someone who knows how to test for actual pollution in both the air and the soil? Everyone is chiming in with what they think and what they “know” but unless an expert has done testing, who knows what is true? Such experts check the air and land quality before a school is built. At least in those cases, the children are inside and partially protected. With our children both completely outside and with home plate practically on the highway no one really knows what amounts they may be exposed to. Sound is also a problem but until we have an expert doing a pollution check, nothing more should go forward.
