Fair Lawn NJ, a minor Friday morning, 06/14, hit-and-run crash on Route 80 westbound in Saddle Brook involving a Honda Accord and a Dodge Ram pick up truck, lead to a more serious crash in Fair Lawn, followed by a high speed pursuit shortly thereafter through Fair Lawn, Paterson, and Hawthorne. The adult female driver of the Honda Accord was taken into custody after she fled from the Morlot Avenue, Fair Lawn crash site at high speed, and would not yield to pursuing police officers until they trapped her vehicle in a private driveway on Heights Avenue in Fair Lawn.
An unmarked Fair Lawn Police vehicle sustained minor damage during the incident when the suspected hit-and-run driver backed her vehicle into it. It was also reported that the female Honda driver failed a field sobriety test administered by Fair Lawn Police. A New Jersey State Trooper responded to the Morlot Avenue crash site in order to take information regarding the Route 80 westbound hit-and-run incident. Despite three (3) crashes and a high speed pursuit through several heavily populated areas, no injuries were reported in the incident.
