Midland Park NJ, safety activist Francis Geraghty voiced some concerns about making left turn out of Rea Avenue on to Godwin Avenue in Midland Park:
Geraghty explained, “Some time ago I discovered that making a left turn out of Rea Avenue on to Godwin Avenue in Midland Park was dangerous not only because of fast moving traffic on Godwin Avenue but also cars pulling out of Rea Avenue had their view obstructed on each side by advertising signs. I sent the DOT photos of both sides and predicted an accident soon by a motorist making a blind left turn. Eventually this big problem sign on left side was removed. The right side advertising signs are still distracting motorists every day and should be moved to a different location. Hopefully, the DOT will take a second look and clear the obstruction on the right side of intersection also. See before and after photos enclosed. It is hard to knock Midland Park because it is so well run with so few traffic problems.”
