Ridgecrest senior housing at 11 Ridge Rd. Details at the moment are sketchy, but the fire apparently was confined to one apartment. At least one person died. Ridgewood Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke told CBS News the firefighters responded and were able to contain the fire quickly. Unfortunately, one person was found dead. “The firefighters and police officers arrived. They did knock out the fire, but we did find one deceased. And that is currently under investigation at this time,” she said.

“The loss of life is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” said Mayor Susan Knudsen told North Jersey Media .
