Too many guns on the street to prevent shootings by passing stricter gun laws. Only thing you prevent is fathers and mothers having legal backing when they shoot a perp who entered their property.
To stop mass shoutings, we gotta have a healthy, smart, mentally stable society. But that runs against consumer economy prerogatives. Which are to make us all dumb and insecure enough to constantly buy stuff we don’t need. Dem attempt at gun control is therefore just recognition that consumer economy and responsible citizenry can’t coexist.
How can we have a mentally stable society when society celebrates metal illness and does not treat it?
In a society where mentally ill people are allowed to choose their own genders, anything goes.
