Ridgewood NJ, according to Rasmussen Reports even in the  wake of two mass shootings, President Joe Biden called for Congress to pass new gun-control laws, but nearly two-thirds of voters don’t believe such tragedies are preventable.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters say it is not possible to completely prevent mass shootings like the ones in Atlanta, Georgia, and Boulder, Colorado. Only 23% believe mass shootings can be completely prevented, while 13% are not sure.

Anger among the public and commenters has grown following a report in the New York Times that claimed Alissa was known to intelligence officials due to his links to another individual under investigation by the FBI. The suspect’s identity was known to the F.B.I. because he was linked to another individual under investigation by the bureau, according to law enforcement officials.

This has prompted some pundits to claim that the Boulder shooting marked the FBI’s latest failure to prevent terrorist attacks on US soil, highlighting previous massacres, such as the Las Vegas shooting in 2017 and the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, bought his AR-15-style Ruger AR-556 at the Eagles Nest Armory in Arvada, about 20 miles southeast of Boulder, 9NEWS reported. The store owner where Ahmad Al Aliwi Aliss bought the weapons’ used in the shooting , John Mark Eagleton, said the accused gunman passed a background check before making the purchase.

  1. Best prevention is good parenting. It takes 2 involved and peaceful parents.

  2. The fact remains that this style weapon was designed with one intent only: To kill large numbers of human beings quickly. There’s no reason for them to be on the streets. It’s true that you may never be able to stop every maniac from going on a rampage. However, there are some common sense things we can do to minimize the impact when they do.

    1. the Boulder police are currently claiming he only fired a pistol and never fired his AR-15

  3. The “pistol” was a Ruger AR-556, frequently called “an AR-15 type pistol” because of its design to get around gun laws. Again, without taking away anyone’s right to bear arms, there is no reason for this type of weapon to be on the streets.

    1. you don’t need a reason, the 2nd amendment was specifically written to keep government power in check

  4. Where the Bill of Rights numbered in a special order?
Dear Liberal: The second amendment is much more important than the right to Abortion found in the penumbra of the Constitution. You never want ANY restrictions on that right do you?
I want more gun rights. Not less.
The police often get there to clean up the mess and count bodies.

  5. Criminals don’t obey laws. (hows that working out in Chicago with the strictest gun laws?)
The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
The police have guns to protect themselves from these miscreants.
In NJ we are ‘sitting ducks’ because law abiding gun owners can only protect themselves while home.

  6. Too many guns on the street to prevent shootings by passing stricter gun laws. Only thing you prevent is fathers and mothers having legal backing when they shoot a perp who entered their property.

To stop mass shoutings, we gotta have a healthy, smart, mentally stable society. But that runs against consumer economy prerogatives. Which are to make us all dumb and insecure enough to constantly buy stuff we don’t need. Dem attempt at gun control is therefore just recognition that consumer economy and responsible citizenry can’t coexist.

  7. How can we have a mentally stable society when society celebrates metal illness and does not treat it?
In a society where mentally ill people are allowed to choose their own genders, anything goes.
