Teaneck NJ, Fairleigh Dickinson University Metropolitan Campus, founded in 1942, is the largest private university in New Jersey and is home of the Division I Knights. FDU’s head basketball coach, Greg Herenda, now entering his 9th season of coaching the FDU Knights, is ready to take on the 2021-2022 basketball season. Coach Herenda has over 40 years of coaching experience, including being a head coach for Elgin Community College (2006-07), Cabrini (2007-08), UMass Lowell (2008-12) and Fairleigh Dickinson University (2013-Present). Some of his recognitions include over 200 career victories, six NCAA tournament appearances, two-time NEC Champion (2016 & 2019), and was awarded the NABC District Coach of the Year in 2016. After a tough season last year because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Coach Herenda and the team is looking to bounce back these coming years.

The FDU Knights recruited many new faces both on the roster, coaching staff, and supporting staff such as the addition of Team Manager, Ryan Ang. Ryan Ang, a Filipino-American basketball trainer featured on ABC7 New York, Entrepreneur, USA Today, People Magazine, etc. is considered to be the youngest basketball trainer according to USA.Inquier.Net and Balitang America. Ang, who has started his basketball training business at the age of 15, has trained over 300 athletes and eight basketball teams both in and out of the United States. Not to mention, Ang has also been the lead basketball trainer for numerous camps and clinics across the tristate. Ryan Ang joined the supporting staff of the FDU Knights to help assist with basketball operations and to hopefully help the team become successful throughout the season. Ang is very excited to work alongside with Head Coach Greg Herenda, Assistant Coach Pete Lappas as well as the rest of the coaching and supporting staff. The new additions of the FDU Men’s Basketball team are ready to take on the 2021-2022 basketball season and they hope to see you at some of their games!
