Paramus NJ, a Newark man accused of burglarizing 14 Dunkin’ locations and stealing over $18,200 in cash was arrested after a five-week crime spree, authorities said.
Suspect Identified as Enajaim Bowman
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Enajaim Bowman, 24, surrendered to authorities and now faces 14 counts of third-degree burglary along with multiple other charges.
Five Weeks of Late-Night Burglaries
Bowman allegedly targeted Dunkin’ stores in Chatham, Edison, East Hanover, Florham Park, Hackensack, Hillsdale, Lodi, Paramus, River Vale, and Summit between December 13 and January 19.
The burglaries occurred between midnight and 4 a.m., during which Bowman allegedly:
- Stole over $18,200 in cash
- Took $140 in gift cards
- Caused nearly $10,000 in property damage
Surveillance Footage Leads to Arrest
Authorities say Bowman pried open locked doors and windows to access the stores. He successfully looted cash registers, manager offices, and strongboxes in all but one attempt. On January 19, his burglary attempt at a Dunkin’ on Kinderkamack Road in Emerson was foiled, marking the end of his spree.
Investigators from the Bergen County Crime Reduction Task Force, Hackensack Police Department, and Union Township Police Department reviewed surveillance footage, leading to Bowman’s arrest.
Charges and Jail Time
Bowman is charged with:
- 14 counts of third-degree burglary
- 1 count of third-degree attempted burglary
- 12 counts of third-degree theft
- 2 counts of third-degree criminal mischief
- 7 counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief
He remains in the Bergen County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance.
