Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police captured an individual who allegedly tried to steal a Honda Odyssey from the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Gilbert Street, Ridgewood on Wednesday morning, 02/09. After being confronted by the Honda’s owner, the suspect fled Gilbert Street in a vehicle reportedly stolen from a Queens, NY based driving school, but not before leaving a bottle of liquor inside of the Honda. He was subsequently spotted driving through several Ridgewood and Glen Rock residential neighborhoods after leaving Gilbert Street, but was eventually captured in the parking lot of a Dunkin’ Donuts illegally parked at the intersection of Franklin Turnpike and Route 17 southbound in Ridgewood. The stolen driving school vehicle was impounded by Ridgewood Police and transported to their headquarters by a tow truck. The suspect was also transported to Ridgewood Police for processing. No injuries nor motor vehicle crashes were reported in connection with the incident.
