Teaneck NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of SHALOM YEHUDIEL (DOB: 3/03/1982; married; business owner) of Aventura, Florida on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Federal Bureau of Investigation New York Field Office under the direction of Assistant Director-in-Charge Michael J. Driscoll.
On Friday, November 19, 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed that SHALOM YEHUDIEL sexually assaulted the child, who was 16 years old or younger at the time, in Teaneck, NJ, on more than one occasion.
As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, SHALOM YEHUDIEL was indicted by a Bergen County Grand Jury on charges of first-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)b; second-degree sexual assault, 2C:14-2c(3)b; and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). On Monday, September 18, 2023, YEHUDIEL voluntarily surrendered to the BCPO in Paramus, NJ and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Teaneck Police Department for their assistance with this investigation.
