Woodbridge Township NJ, The New Jersey State Police have arrested Jean Carlo Del Carmen Gonzalez, 22, of New Brunswick, N.J. after fleeing a vessel stop in Middlesex County.
On Sunday, June 6, at 5:33 p.m., Sergeant Robert Albano, of the Marine Services Bureau Carteret Station, attempted to stop Gonzalez, who was operating a Yamaha Waverunner, for a boating violation on the Raritan River in Woodbridge Township.
During the stop, Gonzalez refused to provide Sgt. Albano with the requested documentation and fled from the scene. Sgt. Albano attempted to pursue Gonzalez along the Raritan River, but lost visual of the watercraft and terminated the pursuit.
While continuing down the river, Sgt. Albano observed Gonzalez’s Waverunner docked at the Buchanan River Front Park boat ramp in Sayreville Borough. At this time, Sgt. Albano docked his vessel and began a search of the area. A short time later, Sgt. Albano located Gonzalez nearby after he was alerted to his location by a passerby. Sgt. Albano approached Gonzalez, but he attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Sgt. Albano located and arrested Gonzalez.
Jean Carlo Del Carmen Gonzalez was charged with obstruction and eluding. He was released pending a future court date.
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
