Newark NJ, , a New Jersey State Trooper rescued a suicidal man attempting to jump from the Newark Bay Extention portion of the New Jersey Turnpike in Jersey City, Hudson County.
At 8:04 p.m., Trooper Nicholas Corvino was dispatched to the report of a man sitting on the ledge of the bridge on the Newark Bay Extention.
When Tpr. Corvino arrived, he observed a 19-year-old man sitting on the concrete edge of the bridge.

While speaking to the man, Tpr. Corvino observed that he was distraught and was contemplating jumping off the bridge. After a brief conversation, Tpr. Corvino convinced the man to step back onto the roadway and escorted him to his troop car.
While transporting the man to a gas station off the highway, Tpr. Corvino continued to comfort the man. A short time later, Jersey City EMS arrived at the gas station and transported him to an area hospital for further treatment.
We urge anyone experiencing a crisis that seems too much to bear to contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or go to www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org.

  1. I would refer anyone calling to defund the police to this story. Not only should we not defund the police, we should be investing in their ability to manage mental illness like this officer did so effectively.

  2. only anarchists and uninformed buffoons call to defund the police.

  3. The problem with Dems and Defunding The Police is that if you ask 10 of them what this means, you will get 10 different answers.

  4. Screw them let them jump.
