ELMWOOD PARK, NJ — A high-ranking Elmwood Park public employee has been suspended without pay following his arrest on multiple severe charges involving the sexual assault and endangerment of a minor.

Nicholas Fedorisin, 63, of Elmwood Park, New Jersey, was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after a coordinated investigation by local and county law enforcement. Fedorisin served as the Deputy Coordinator for the Elmwood Park Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Following the announcement of the charges, town officials immediately issued his suspension.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, the investigation began on Sunday, May 17, 2026, when the Elmwood Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged assault.

Detectives uncover evidence indicating that Fedorisin engaged in illegal sexual conduct with a juvenile in Elmwood Park on multiple occasions spanning a four-year period between 2021 and 2025.

As a result of the Special Victims Unit investigation, Fedorisin faces several severe felony-level charges under New Jersey law:
