Leonia NJ, a New Jersey Transit bus crashed into a building in Leonia on Wednesday morning, according to Leonia Police Chief Scott Tamagny. The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. near Grand Avenue and Fort Lee Road when the bus, which was not in passenger service, veered off the road and struck a vacant building before hitting nearby trees.
Details of the Crash
According to authorities, the bus was traveling east on Fort Lee Road before making a right turn onto Grand Avenue. During the turn, the bus left the roadway and collided with a building at 340 Grand Ave.

✅ Two NJ Transit employees— a driving instructor and a student driver— were inside
✅ No injuries were reported
✅ The vacant building sustained structural damage
Investigation Underway
Officials from the Leonia Building Department arrived on the scene to assess the structural damage to the building. While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities continue to gather details to determine what led to the incident.
