NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Transit engineers have voted to strike if their contract dispute is not resolved.
However, union members are hoping the federal government will create a panel to help bring about an agreement. Union officials say the creation of the board would be enough to forestall a strike for the immediate future.

Please strike. I can then work from home.
Please post their generous salaries and benefits.
Does their union still require the “fireman” in the cab? ( that’s the guy who shovels the coal into the steam locomotive, and despite progress to diesel power, the union “featherbedding” would not allow this position to be eliminated.
I don’t think they still have a “fireman”, but if you keep talking about it, I am sure someone will pick it up as fact and run with your strawman.
I’ll just work from home if they strike. The risk is that the collective VPN and Telco infrastructures can’t handle a couple hundred thousand extra connections Monday to Friday.
Actually, the guy at the front is the engineer. I’m not sure how he got this name, as I don’t think the job requires much in the way of engineering.
It’s a shame how nj transit are treating there employees. ..The men & women who work on the trains and buses work extremely hard. 4 to 5 year’s with no raise that’s not right.. Has anyone seen what MTA workers make?
