Hoboken NJ, this past weekend, a family and child became separated while on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. The child had mistakenly boarded a light rail vehicle alone. As the family sought police assistance, NJ Transit Police officers fanned out in the surrounding area and canvassed multiple stations. Via communication with concerned citizens, the Officers were able to narrow their search within Jersey City.
While canvassing with his patrol vehicle, observant K9 Officer Brown noticed the child. The child was observed alongside the helpful citizens who had coordinated to narrow the search. Officer Brown confirmed the child was located and he transported the child to be reunited with family.
Our deep thanks to the concerned citizens who noticed the lost child, stood by, and sought help. Their actions to seek assistance for this child should surely be commended.
