Newark NJ, on Thursday December 14th, a Texas longhorn steer captured the hearts of people throughout the tri-state area and animal lovers everywhere. The bull, named Ricardo, wandered onto the train tracks at Newark Penn Station while police officers and animal rescue workers attempted to safely corral him.
Ricardo was safely captured and transported to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Sussex County where he was seen by a veterinarian and is now resting comfortably.
This heartwarming tale inspired NJ TRANSIT to introduce an adorable plush companion, named after the real-life bull. Now, you can bring home a piece of Ricardo’s inspiring story while helping support him on his new journey. The Ricardo the Bull stuffed animal can be purchased for $20, which includes free shipping, at NJTransitShoppe.com. Portions of the proceeds will go directly to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Sussex County. Skylands rescues, rehabilitates and cares for farm animals that have escaped slaughter. It provides 232 acres of pastures for over 400 farmed animals while advocating for animal welfare issues.
Snuggle up with your very own Ricardo, knowing that a portion of the proceeds will go directly to supporting the real-life Ricardo at the animal sanctuary where he has found refuge. Get your Ricardo plush today!
