Demarest, NJ: The Regina Angelorum Chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 86 of the Academy of the Holy Angels’ top scholars during the first-ever online induction ceremony. AHA science teacher and NHS Moderator Sharon Jureller presented the event virtually due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

National Art Honor Society Inductees Welcomed at Virtual Ceremony

Demarest NJ,  Outstanding student artists from the Academy of the Holy Angels were inducted into the National Art Honor Society at a virtual ceremony held on April 23. AHA art teacher Kathryn Biskup created a PowerPoint presentation to facilitate the online event.

Established by the National Art Education Association in 1978, the NAHS welcomes high school students who demonstrate a high level of scholarship in art and academics. NAHS also promotes good character, art education within and outside the halls of AHA, and service projects such as organizing the Academy’s art shows.

All-County Athletes Receive Video Tribute from Coaches Association

Demarest NJ,  Academy of the Holy Angels’ senior track stars Maris Rodriguez and Nicole Barbaro were recognized in a video tribute organized by the Bergen County Women Coaches Association. The video was produced in lieu of the annual awards dinner, which cannot be held while COVID-19 social distancing and self-quarantine measures remain in place.

Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest Has Seven top-notch AHA scholar-athletes sign on the same day

Demarest NJ, Seven top-notch athletes from the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest, New Jersey, signed their letters of intent on November 18 — and set a record in the process. AHA Athletic Director Patti Gorsuch explained that this is the largest group of AHA scholar-athletes to sign on the same day. Angels who committed to continue their athletic careers at the college level include: Kylee Amato of Bergenfield, softball, Bentley University; Samantha Hess of Nutley, softball, Bentley University; Maris Rodriguez of Ridgewood, track, Saint Joseph’s University; Nicole Barbaro of Fort Lee, track, Amherst College; Christina Bagin of Glen Ridge, track, Hamilton College; and twin sisters Daniella and Nicolette Martinez of Park Ridge, volleyball, New Jersey City University.
