End of Summer “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign

Ridgewood NJ, with summer nearing its conclusion, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Highway Traffic Safety (HTS) today announced the launch of enhanced enforcement efforts to deter impaired driving in New Jersey. Grant funding from HTS will be used to mobilize law enforcement agencies throughout the state to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints and take alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers off the roadways.

Platkin and the Division on Civil Rights (DCR) announced today that DCR has issued a Notice of Violation against an individual advertising his services on the gig economy website TaskRabbit, as well as on other platforms.  Melquisedec Francis, the advertiser, stated that he would not provide services to Jewish patrons in at least three online communications in violation of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

Governor Murphy Finally Starts to Faceup to Statewide Stolen Car Epidemic

Trenton NJ, in September , a suspect entered Governor Phil Murphy’s exclusive waterfront Middletown neighborhood looking to steal a car. The governor’s neighbor’s home was targeted by at least two would-be car thieves who tried to break into their Garage. Another neighbor scared the thieves off and the perpetrators fled the scene in a white BMW SUV.

Governor Phil Murphy implied on several occasions that Republicans are playing the “crime card” and apparently that’s racist.

On November 12th Governor Murphy seemed to change his tune and announced support for a series of legislative measures to combat auto theft. The Governor proposed:
