New Bridge Crossing NJ, We hope you and your families are doing well. Baseball is back. It’s hard to imagine that so late in July. Each July past, we have hosted a Vintage base ball game in the meadow that has always been well attended by cranks who enjoy both baseball and history. While the game was cancelled this year, in honor of baseball starting up again, we wanted to share the history of the game right in our own backyard, New Bridge. Enjoy the history of the game on a local level, photos are from past events.
Ridgewood NJ, As New Jersey continues the fight against the Coronavirus, we have seen a tremendous amount of support for those on the frontlines.
We would like to thank New Jersey native, former NY Yankee and Texas Rangers third basemen, Todd Frazier, for showing his support for the State Police and all first responders.
Even though you now play in Texas, your spirit truly represents what it means to be Jersey Strong, best of luck with the Rangers!
Paterson NJ, The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) board to advance the comprehensive community redevelopment of the Hinchliffe Stadium neighborhood in Paterson by approving funding to build a $29.1 million, 75-unit affordable senior housing development, the Murphy Administration announced.
Hinchliffe Stadium stands as a relic of a working-class city proud of its baseball heritage and teeters on the precipice of revival. Paterson, New Jersey, lays claim to this storied facility, once the renowned site of Negro League games, but it is hardly the only visual hallmark for the metropolis known as “Silk City” because of its bygone silk industry.

The RBSA is a volunteer organization. We rely on parents and guardians to volunteer their time to help make this organization possible. While you are going through the registration process, please be sure to register to volunteer as a coach, an assistant coach, fundraiser, parade assistant or any other position that you feel you can help. Coaching in the lower grades requires only a few hours of your time a week and is critical to ensure that our players have the instruction and assistance needed to make this an enjoyable experience.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood blog has picked up chatter that the 2014 plan for a 90-foot baseball field was still on at Schedler.
According to Mayor Ramon Hach the plan for 90-foot baseball diamond was discarded in 2016. The Village Council decided to move forward with a new design that was proposed by the Schedler Ad hoc Committee in 2017. The new design includes a protective berm, a playground, a walking path, 44 parking spaces, restrooms and a 75×50 yard multi-purpose which will take up about 1/4 the space of a full-size baseball field. The presentation can be accessed with this
“Please, try Responding to the SPECIFIC ISSUE at hand instead of TROLLING w/ meaningless brain-dead comments. There are tons of AWESOME volunteer coaches in Ridgewood. Baseball is tons of FUN. The kids have a blast… and most, and I stress, “MOST” of the coaches are WONDERFUL people. The question is not RAKES, TENNIS RACQUETS or VOLUNTEERING… the question at HAND is SAFETY TRAINING FINANCIALS across almost a DECADE of the RBSA’s Form 990 tax returns.
“RBSA Corruption PART 3: SAFETY TRAINING & INSTRUCTION – “THE SMOKING GUN!”
While the RBSA could meet NJ’s LEGAL SAFETY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS for around 10k per year, they are generating, on AVERAGE, $50k/YEAR in REVENUE and $150k/YEAR in EXPENSE for SAFETY TRAINING and INSTRUCTION…
That’s a MONSTER COST and an even BIGGER NET LOSS! Seems CRIMINAL to me….
Who is writing checks for TRAINING? Who is getting paid off this TRAINING? Who is performing this TRAINING?!? Why is the RBSA’s SAFETY TRAINING operating at a HUGE NEGATIVE MARGIN?!? Why did the RBSA report -$0- in REV/EXPENSE for 2014/2015?
Is SAFETY TRAINING an ENGINE for KICKBACKS? Is SAFETY TRAINING being conducted in HAWAII?!? Does SAFETY TRAINING include EXPENSIVE SCOTCH, GOLF and CIGARS?!??
I don’t know. I don’t care…where there’s SMOKE there’s FIRE…
It is my position that the RBSA is the MOST CORRUPT 501c3 YOUTH BASEBALL ORGANIZATION in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA….
Ridgewood NJ, according to a reader, ” the RBSA fee gouges, lies on tax returns and steals from a charity registered with the IRS dedicated to Youth Athletics…. They need to be investigated!!!! “
