Ridgewood Nj, in 1976 McGraw-Hill published Erma Bombeck’s The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank, which became a best-seller ,but according to Ridgewood Water the grass is already starting to fill in the patchwork of 16 Lead Service Lines replaced on Beechwood Road in Ridgewood over the last week. Ridgewood Water thanks  residents for their patience with this temporary inconvenience as our distribution crews install lead free materials in our distribution system. Thank you to the paving contractor, Tilcon, for working with us to ensure we leave this part of the road freshly paved and smooth for years to come.

Ridgewood NJ, Over the next several days, Ridgewood Water is working hard to complete more than a dozen lead service line replacements on Beechwood Road ahead of the scheduled road paving. Working in collaboration with PSE&G’s contractor, the paving is being rescheduled for the end of next week to provide our crews with enough time to complete all of the service line replacements. The replacements and paving should be completed by Friday August 18th. We thank the residents of Beechwood Road for their patience while we work to rehabilitate these service lines and bring a smoother road surface to this neighborhood, as well as thank PSE&G for collaborating with us to allow this important work to be completed.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police Patrol Officer Jack Knudsen was assigned to investigate a Wednesday morning, 09/05, crash in which the driver of landscaping company’s dump truck lost control of the vehicle, which then veered off the roadway, down an embankment, over a retaining wall, and into a children’s backyard swing set before it came to a stop. Remarkably, there were no reported injuries in the incident. A heavy duty tow truck equipped with a hydraulic crane removed the dump truck and its attached trailer from their predicament. Officer Knudsen noted that the accident caused damage at two (2) properties at the accident site (Beechwood Road and Palmer Court). He would not comment as to the nature of summonses issued, if any. Ridgewood Fire Department and Ridgewood EMS also responded to the incident.
