Spot Light On First Responders: Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps and Alpine Police Officers Recognized for Life Saving CPR efforts

On December 3rd, Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps (CVARC) was requested for a sick person. When the Alpine Police officers Matthew Gough and Justin Fierro arrived on scene, they found the patient unresponsive and started CPR. Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps members arrived shortly thereafter and assumed patient care. The patient was transported to Englewood hospital and they were released from the hospital a few days later. The hard work of the Alpine Police officers and the members of CVARC allowed the patient to be home for the holidays.

2-car Crash in Closter , One Vehicle Overturned Sends Driver to Hackensack University Medical Center

Closter NJ, Sunday morning the Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps was called to the intersection of Harrington & West Street for a 2-car motor vehicle crash with an overturned vehicle, multiple patients. The driver of the overturned vehicle was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. Many thanks to our members who crewed the rescue truck and both ambulances! Closter Police Department, Closter Fire Department and HUMC Paramedics were also on the scene .

Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps Dispatched to Help Fallen Horseback Rider in Rockleigh

Closter NJ, Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps was dispatched mutual aid to Rockleigh for someone who had fallen off their horse on the trails. Upon arrival at the park, Closter EMT’s were greeted by a woman on a horse. She and the horse guided the EMT’s to the patient, who had fallen near a rocky creek.

Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps Returning from A Hospital Run Render Aid to a pedestrian struck by a car in Oradell

Oradell NJ, Neighbors do help neighbors! on December 30th 2021 , Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps 727 was headed home after transporting a patient to a nearby hospital. At the intersection of Oradell Avenue and Prospect in Oradell, a pedestrian had just been struck by a car. The crew stopped and began to render aid. Moments later, ALS 301 from Holy Name arrived and assumed patient care. No other ambulances were in the area, so Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps 727 was asked to transport the patient to the Valley Hospital. Many thanks to Oradell Police and ALS 301.

Injured Hiker Rescued After Fall on Palisades Trail in Closter

Closer NJ, At 2:30 Saturday Closter Ambulance 727 responded to call on Henry Hudson Drive for a fall victim with a leg injury. Moments later, Closter Rescue 728 was requested when it was learned the patient had fallen from the cliff. A rappel team descended to the patient and safely brought him up to the roadway. The patient was transported to Hackensack University Hospital’s trauma unit. Mutual aid was provided by Alpine Fire Department, East Bergen Rappel Team, Fort Lee Ambulance, Fort Lee Police, Englewood ALS, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police.
