Burke, Ph.D.Director, Center for Education Policy recently released a review of the literature on the outcomes of students who homeschool – which paints a completely different – positive picture. As she explains, “among those who choose to homeschool, the positive effects are demonstrable. Paramus NJ, The membership of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is closely monitoring the COVID 19 situation at the Paramus and Menlo Park Memorial Homes and its effects on the veterans, spouses and Gold Star families residing in the homes. We all mourn the deaths and promise to every family member that we will use every resource available to ensure adequate staffing, funding, and procedures to care for those ill and prevent future infections. We owe a huge thank you to the 25 additional nurses who volunteered to assist the residents along with the 90 Veterans Affairs nurses and National Guard troops deployed to the homes.

Ridgewood NJ, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) today announced the first confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) infection in two pet cats. These are the first pets in the United States to test positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Benjamin Franklin Middle School students win Middle School Best Film at the Count Basie Teen and College Film Fest 2020

Ridgewood NJ,  Ridgewood students Maiah Riedel and Emily Scharfenberg won Middle School Best Film at the Count Basie Teen and College Film Fest 2020 for their documentary, Unbridled.
The film was showcased at this year’s virtual film fest, which ran from March 30 through April 6. The two student filmmakers attend Benjamin Franklin Middle School (BF), where they have been active members of the Film Club for the past two years. Unbridled is the story of a Mustang training and rescue facility located in Allendale that also serves as a wellness center for veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
