IS THE EDUCATION TRUTH PROJECT A NJEA-FUNDED, DARK MONEY PAC?

Ridgewood NJ, It sure looks like the NJEA is funding another dark money Super PAC, this time aimed squarely at parents running for school board this fall. Sunlight Policy Center of New Jersey recently received several tips that New Jersey’s most powerful special interest, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), is funding a new dark money Super PAC aimed at this fall’s school board elections. This would make sense, as a dark money Super PAC would complement the other parts of the NJEA’s multi-pronged, statewide campaign to fight the wave of parental activism in school districts across the state.

Trenton NJ, “Dark money” group New Direction New Jersey (NDNJ) is no longer quite so dark. Some nine months after promising to disclose its donors, NDNJ finally did last week. Assemblywoman Schepisi Calls New Jersey ,”one of the most corrupt states in the entire country”

Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi

Saddle River NJ, Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi is calling on New Direction to release the list of its donors. She says with major legislation being debated, the Governor’s Office needs to be seen as above reproach.

“Under no circumstances should there be any perception, in one of the most corrupt states in the entire country, that people are being able to buy influence within the Governor’s Office,” she said.

Attorney Daryl Kipnis said on Facebook ,”This is what happens when career NJ politicians in both parties (mostly Democrats of course) get re-elected without trying. $2.4M spent on lobbying gets a $300M/year annual subsidy (that YOU pay for) for 1 company, who then cuts a $55K “Thank You” campaign check to the wrong political slush fund.”
