Man gets $750K settlement after falling on icy sidewalk

Seaside Heights NJ,  NJ Advance Media is reporting that an Ocean County New Jersey man who cracked his skull and suffered brain injuries after slipping on an icy Seaside Heights sidewalk more than three years ago settled his lawsuit for $750,000, according to a report. The victim , Thomas Donovan, 56, of Toms River, lost his footing on untreated ice and snow Feb. 16, 2014, while he and his wife were walking in front of a commercial building after leaving a restaurant, NJLawJournal.com said.

A special reminder Winter is coming and Ridewod residents , Per section 249-1 of the Village Code, all snow and/or ice must be removed from sidewalks abutting Village streets within 24 hours after a snow storm has ended. And, the snow and/or ice that you do remove may not be placed in the street so as to impede the flow of traffic.
