STICKY’S FINGER JOINT OPENS FIRST NEW JERSEY LOCATION AT THE OUTLETS AT BERGEN TOWN CENTER

Paramus NJ, a New York City-based fast casual chicken finger restaurant, is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of their 8th store this Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Outlets at Bergen Town Center in Paramus, NJ. 

The restaurant, located at 605 Bergen Town Center, is not just Sticky’s’ first New Jersey venture; it is also their milestone first foray outside of New York City. Sticky’s takes pride in serving “the best damn chicken finger you have ever tasted”.  Two additional NJ locations (Bridgewater and Union Township) are planned for the coming months.

Ridgewood NJ, b.good-Ridgewood officially opened on Wednesday. They officially start making their real food in Ridgewood (381 Route 17 South, between the Paramus Road and Linwood Ave exits).Located between the Paramus Road and Linwood ave exits.

The restaurant is the brain child of boyhood friends Anthony and Jon who met in the 6th grade. Their friendship is initially based on the fact that they both love the Boston Celtics and hate the L.A. Lakers and school.

In October of 2002 Anthony drafts the first of many business plans that the team will write. The more they learn about the restaurant business, the more daunting their dream appears. But, they agree that if they work together, they can get it done.

By February of 2003 Anthony and Jon continue their fight over the menu. Jon takes the practical approach of making sure the menu is manageable. Anthony takes the idealistic approach of trying to offer everything that a customer may want. Both, at points throughout these arguments, want to physically hurt the other.

The company website says ; ” who they were two best friends ,grew up eating in our uncle’s kitchen. Anthony’s Uncle Faris served us the best homemade food. Fifteen years later, we started a business together around a simple idea – make fast-food “real” by making it the way it should be… by people not factories. See, we loved fast-food but hated how it made us feel. So, we created a place where you can feel good about the food you eat.When we were growing up, Uncle Faris would always leave us with pieces of advice – “take it easy”, “live life”, and most of all “be good”.

Socially Engineering Food Choices Doesn’t Work

To say that Los Angeles merely failed would be putting it mildly.

Earlier this week, the nonpartisan RAND Corporation released a study that helps demolish the argument that governments (cities, in this case) can socially engineer away residents’ obesity by restricting food freedom.

The study, funded by the National Cancer Institute, focuses on a ridiculous, controversial, seven-year-old zoning ban on new fast food restaurants in South Los Angeles. To say that the measure merely failed would be putting it mildly.

“Since the fast-food restrictions were passed in 2008, overweight and obesity rates in South Los Angeles and other neighborhoods targeted by the law have increased faster than in other parts of the city or other parts of the county,” reads a RAND press release on the study.

Well then.

“The South Los Angeles fast food ban may have symbolic value, but it has had no measurable impact in improving diets or reducing obesity,” said lead author Roland Sturm of RAND.

The RAND study results represent some of the best evidence to date that policies that restrict food freedom do no make people healthier. The failure and repeal of Denmark’s so-called “fat tax” and damning research on mandatory menu labeling are two other convincing examples.
