Manasquan NJ, an off-duty New Jersey State Trooper and a good samaritan saved two distressed kayakers who fell overboard in the Glimmer Class Creek in Manasquan, Monmouth County.
On Sunday, June 13, Sergeant First Class Erin Smith was traveling over the Glimmer Glass Drawbridge when she noticed an overturned kayak, two orange life vests floating, and two women struggling in the water. She immediately exited her vehicle, ran towards the bridge and called to the struggling women to ask if they needed assistance.

Paramus NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of HECTOR WILLIAM ALAMEDA (DOB: 11/03/1985; single; warehouse worker) of 181 Clinton Street, Apartment 1, Paterson, NJ on charges of Attempted Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault On A Police Officer, Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, and Criminal Sexual Contact. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
