Paramus NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of HECTOR WILLIAM ALAMEDA (DOB: 11/03/1985; single; warehouse worker) of 181 Clinton Street, Apartment 1, Paterson, NJ on charges of Attempted Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault On A Police Officer, Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, and Criminal Sexual Contact. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, the Paramus Police received a 911 call from a resident stating that a woman was being assaulted on East Ridgewood Avenue. The Paramus Police responded, and the victim stated that a man, who was unknown to her, had pushed her to the ground, groped her intimate parts, and was attempting to pull her pants down. An area homeowner intervened to stop the assault, and the unknown man pointed a knife at the homeowner then fled the area. HECTOR WILLIAM ALAMEDA was identified as the man who assaulted the victim, and he was located a few blocks away from where the attack occurred. As the Paramus Police approached ALAMEDA, he pointed the knife at the officers until he was eventually subdued and taken into custody. Paramus Police then contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, and an investigation was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, on September 30, 2020, HECTOR WILLIAM ALAMEDA was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1/2C:14-2c(4), a 2nd degree crime; one count of Aggravated Assault On A Police Officer, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(5)a, a 2nd degree crime; one count of Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purposes, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(d), a 3rd degree crime; one count of Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(d), a 4th degree crime; and Criminal Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a 4th degree crime. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Paramus Police Department for its assistance in this investigation. He would also like to commend the good Samaritan who intervened to stop the attack.
three cheers for diversity… again
Paramus PD showed restraint. They had every right to use deadly force
Anyone know where on Ridgewood Ave in Paramus? It says East Ridgewood Ave., which would be on the other side of Route 17 so I am assuming this is correct. From Paramus Road to Route 17 is West Ridgewood Ave. In any case, great job the homeowner and Paramus Police.
near the Fashion center (close to Parkway School and the Park and ride ) in broad day light
Awesome job by the homeowner
Pretty sure a social worker wouldn’t have caught this guy or would have done anything when a knife was shown for all the “defund the police” supporters out there…..
He’s lucky I’m not a cop, dirt bags like this need to go on a one-way ride do you know where.
Yes I know where. No one will miss him. Because if you send them to jail they’re going to kill him. Unless I’ll be someone’s boyfriend. Sick bastards. There’s no help for people like that. They should be thrown to the Lions.
