Wayne NJ, “grandparent bail scam.” strikes again , two men from New York are facing charges and accused of scamming a couple in Wayne Township. Police say 18-year-old Ernis Nusevic, of Yonkers, and 26-year-old Lenny Gomez, of the Bronx, were charged with conspiracy and criminal attempt to commit theft by deception.

The scam occurs when a caller contacts an elderly victim and portrays themselves as the grandchild of the victim and advises the victim, they have been involved in a serious motor vehicle accident, have been arrested, and require money for bail.⁣
