Republican Chris DiPiazza Looks to Become the New Mayor of Paramus

Paramus NJ, looks like Republican Chris DiPiazza will become the next Paramus mayor, flipping a seat long held by Democrats. So far the unofficial results provided by Bergen County had DiPiazza leading with 5,486 votes to 4,008 for Democrat MariaElena Bellinger. Both candidates are sitting Borough Council members vying to succeed Mayor Richard LaBarbiera, a Democrat who has held the position for 14 years but chose not to seek reelection.

Paramus Council Signs Anti-nepotism Ordinance

Paramus NJ, an anti-nepotism ordinance was approved by the borough of Paramus Council , more than a year after council members and the mayor were at odds over lawsuits filed over the hiring of Mayor Richard LaBarbiera’s son as a Paramus police officer.

Bergen Towns Follow Different Paths on Legalizing Marijuana

Paramus Falls for the Bogus Premise of “Traffic Calming” by adding a Dedicated Bike Lanes On Midland Avenue

Paramus NJ,  The borough will soon install its first-ever bike lanes, aimed at improving safety for cyclists using the busy Midland Avenue thoroughfare. The bike lanes will run from Paramus Road to Country Club Road on Midland Avenue. Striped lanes will be added on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the road. The stretch of Midland Avenue,which has a speed limit of 35 mph, is home to the public library, Midland Elementary School, the municipal swimming pool and an access road to Bergen Community College.
