Public Health Alert: Potential Measles Exposures in Ocean County

Lakewood NJ, The New Jersey Department of Health is warning residents about another confirmed case of measles in an Ocean County resident who potentially exposed individuals in Ocean County between July 10 and July 12.  

Anyone who visited Congregation Belz, 18 Prague Place, Lakewood, NJ 08701 during the following dates/times may have been exposed to measles:

  • July 10 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • July 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • July 12 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Department is working in collaboration with the Ocean County Health Department to identify and notify people who might have been exposed during the time the individual was infectious. For a current list of measles exposures, please visit the Department’s measles page.

Newark NJ, On April 16, 2019, an international traveler from Israel who has been confirmed to have had measles — a highly contagious disease — arrived in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport from Tel Aviv. The individual was infectious on that day and may have exposed others to measles. If you were in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport on April 16 between 4 and 8 a.m., you may have been exposed to measles and, if infected, could develop symptoms as late as May 7.

More Potential NJ Measles Exposure in Middlesex, Ocean Counties

Monmouth County Health Officials Report Potential Case of Measles Exposure

Englishtown NJ, News 12 reports that Health officials in Monmouth County say there was a potential case of measles exposure at an Englishtown restaurant. Officials warn that  if you were at Rosalita’s Roadside Cantina Friday around lunch time, you may be at risk for the measles. The exposure to measles would have happened between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.Officials say the unidentified person from Middlesex County dined at the restaurant.

Public Health Alert: Potential Measles Exposure at Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark NJ, On March 4, 2019, a traveler who has been confirmed to have measles — a highly contagious disease — arrived in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport from Aruba. The individual was infectious on that day and may have traveled to other areas of the airport. If you were in the airport between March 4 at 9 p.m. and March 5 at 9:30 a.m., you may have been exposed to measles and, if infected, could develop symptoms as late as March 26. The individual departed for California from Terminal C.
