Platkin today announced a slate of recommended reforms to be implemented by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) following the completion of two separate investigations into the NJSP. Attorney General Platkin has directed that all of the recommendations set forth in both reports, as well as additional reforms identified by his Office, be accepted and implemented by the NJSP. Trenton NJ, in September , a suspect entered Governor Phil Murphy’s exclusive waterfront Middletown neighborhood looking to steal a car. The governor’s neighbor’s home was targeted by at least two would-be car thieves who tried to break into their Garage. Another neighbor scared the thieves off and the perpetrators fled the scene in a white BMW SUV.
Governor Phil Murphy implied on several occasions that Republicans are playing the “crime card” and apparently that’s racist.

Platkin today announced a new indictment in an investigation by the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force and Division of Criminal Justice that targeted members of an auto theft ring that burglarized car dealerships in four New Jersey counties—Essex, Hudson, Bergen, and Union—taking key fobs they used to steal high-end vehicles from dealership lots.
