Understand the Pros and Cons of the Legalization of Marijuana in New Jersey

POT-SMOKING-KID

River Vale NJ, according to Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi , “This year I worked with Senator Ron Rice and the students at Ramsey High school to understand the pros and cons of the legalization of marijuana in New Jersey. One thing that the students’ research pointed to is how uneducated most people are on the issues related to legalization and how different demographics are being lobbied in different ways. In Urban communities it has been marketed as “social justice” and in suburban communities it has been marketed as reducing your property taxes. Neither argument is accurate.

Reader says , Phil “Murphy is destroying the future of New Jersey”

1780f3d046bba162

Common sense and fiscally responsible management of spending with strict restraints
are things the Governor and Trenton Democrats are just incapable of doing! Murphy continues to buy the favor of those in America illegally with things like sanctuary cities & 2yrs of free Community College for them while burdening those cost on the backs of citizens & those legally here. In many case those paying for Murphy’s betrayal to us.. can’t even afford to pay for their own children’s college!! Then there’s the tax on rentals at the Jersey Shore… cutting the legs out from under all those board walk shops & house rentals!!

Murphy is destroying the future of New Jersey … Even more sick.. is the fact the Trenton Democrats are all helping him do it!!

“Trenton Democrats continually waste OUR TAX DOLLARS on this kind of garbage! Always playing dirty politics instead of working to lower our taxes, cut spending and implement the services they are suppose to be doing for the citizens of NJ!!
How about using Our Tax Dollars on actually maintaining our roads, bridges & seeing to it that our Governor, Mayors etc are “ upholding the rule of law..” such as immigration laws. They should be cutting funding given to illegals living in sanctuary cities in NJ at tax payers expense!! Overturning Gov’s Free Community college forcillegsls causing s greater burden on many families that can’t afford to send their own children to those same colleges!!
No instead Trenton Democrats choose to waste time & OUR money making a political blunder that will cost We the Taxpayers legal fees, court cases and frankly more embarassment then they all do already!!! “

New Jersey State Legislators Should be Required to Release Tax Returns

Ridgewood NJ, In response to news that the New Jersey State Senate plans to vote Thursday on legislation requiring all candidates for President or Vice President of the United States to release their tax returns in order to appear on the ballot in New Jersey, Senator Joe Pennacchio (R-26) announced that he will attempt to amend the bill on the floor, so that it applies to all State Senate and General Assembly candidates as well.

“New Jersey Democrats are claiming that this legislation is about transparency, well what’s good for the goose is what’s good for the gander,” Senator Pennacchio said. “If this really is about making sure voters are well-informed, then commonsense dictates that S-119 should apply to all of us as well. I would vote ‘yes’ if the Senate accepts my proposal to change the bill so that it also applies to all 120 State legislative offices.”

Somebody Had to Say it: Millions In Financial Aid For Illegal Immigrants Is Unfair To Those Who Do Things The Legal Way

VINELAND NJ, Republican candidate for state Senate in LD1, former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi said today that recent news reports that New Jersey provided financial aid for more than 500 ‘undocumented immigrants’ to attend college is just one example of how sanctuary status hurts others.

“I, like many others living in our district, believe it is ridiculous the State provided over $1 million for those living here illegally to attend college,” Sam Fiocchi said, “Granted, many liberals and progressives will argue the students are ‘Dreamers,’ but what they’re really saying is these students, living in the country illegally, are being rewarded for the bad behavior of their parents.”

New Jersey’s Economic House is Crumbling…So, let’s Slap a New Coat of Paint On It

Phill Murphy -Sara Medina del Castillo

BettyLou DeCroce represents Legislative District 26 (Morris Essex & Passaic counties) and is a small business owner

Roxbury Twp NJ, Many state policy leaders treat New Jersey’s economy as if it were a stately mansion to be admired. They pretend to noticed that the termites have eaten the columns by the front door, that the roof leaks and that the foundation has begun to crumble. If the state’s economy were a house for sale it would be listed as outdated and in need of significant structural repairs.

As the state’s chief “realtor” Gov. Murphy’s sales pitch for New Jersey is that the house just needs a coat of paint and all will be fine. The reality is the state’s economic house needs a lot more than cosmetic makeovers.

Senator Declan O’Scanlon condemns Governor Murphy’s minimum wage bill sighting widespread negative impact on New Jersey

A 467A1

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Trenton NJ, Senator Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth) today condemned Governor Murphy’s signature of a bill which would rapidly raise the minimum wage to $15 and have widespread negative impacts for New Jersey.

“This law will have disastrous consequences for our business community and minimum wage workers. It simply goes too far too fast,” O’Scanlon stated. “I serve on the bipartisan manufacturing caucus and we heard from every single manufacturer that it was impossible for them to absorb this increase without losing jobs.”

“A hugely important component of this discussion is the effect on our budget. With the fiscal pronouncements that we have made, including the Senate President himself, how can we commit the State to a dramatic impact like the roughly half a billion dollar price tag of this increase? The is inconsistent with the Path to Progress suggestions for lower cost of government. We are digging ourselves deeper into a hole that we already don’t know how to get out of. How can we possibly look our taxpayers in the eye–already the most beleaguered in the nation–no matter how well-intentioned this might be?”
