Ridgewood NJ, an online petition is making the rounds to include a single mask only car on NJ Transit trains . Adam Reich, a transportation advocate, created an online petition for the mask car rule that was signed by 685 people as of Friday. His goal is to have 1,000 signatures.

Paramus NJ, no injuries were reported following the Friday afternoon, 11/18, crash of a NJ Transit bus into a utility pole on East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, adjacent to the New Jersey Veterans Home and New Bridge Medical Center campuses. The driver was the only occupant on the bus at the time of the crash. No disruptions to utility services were reported in connection with the mishap. Paramus Police and Paramus Fire Department units responded to the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, NJ TRANSIT and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) today announced the programming of $43.6 million in federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) funding to seven NJ TRANSIT projects which advance sustainability, bus garage electrification and first/last mile transportation solutions. The funding will be made available to NJ TRANSIT as part of NJTPA’s Fiscal Year 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program.

Hackensack NJ, on 10/15/2022 at 2346 hours Deputy 3, Engine 4 and Rescue 1 of the City of Hackensack Fire Department were dispatched to a report of vehicle struck by passenger train at the Central Avenue crossing. Deputy 3 arrived on scene and confirmed victim was heavily entrapped. Firefighters from Rescue 1 and Engine 4 worked for approximately 30 minutes stretching a dry line to protect rescue operations and removing the roof of the vehicle. Engine 1 was dispatched to assist and one victim was extricated and turned over to ALS and BLS for treatment and transport to HUMC. N.J. Transit police are investigating.

Ridgewood NJ , according to NJ Transit the systemwide rail on time performance is 91.5% , with the goal of 94.7% .The two train lines that service the Ridgewood train station , the Bergen County and the Main Line have an impressive overall on time performance of 96.5%. The Pascack Valley line that services other parts of the county had an on time performance of 94.6% .

Rutherford NJ, Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train in Rutherford on Saturday morning. According to NJ TRANSIT the pedestrian was struck by a Bergen County Line No. 1854 train, which left Waldwick at 7:35 a.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 8:20 a.m.

East Rutherford NJ, Jets and Giants fans can skip the driving and parking with NJ TRANSIT’s rail service to MetLife Stadium. Beginning last Sunday, September 11 with the Jets hosting the Baltimore Ravens and continuing through the season, NJ TRANSIT will be offering train service on the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line to and from Secaucus Junction for every Jets or Giants home game.

Westwood NJ, a NJ Transit Pascack Valley Line passenger train headed to Spring Valley, struck and killed a pedestrian at the Jefferson Avenue grade crossing, Westwood on Monday morning, 09/12. No injuries were reported by the train crew or passengers on board. The victim was said to have been an elderly woman who was using a wheeled walker as she entered the crossing. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a hospital based paramedic team. Westwood Police, NJ Transit Police, and the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the tragic incident.
