East Rutherford NJ, On Thursday, August 1 and Monday, August 5, NJ TRANSIT will offer Rail and Bus shuttle service to/from MetLife Stadium for the Rolling Stones concert.
Note that all MetLife Stadium rail trips are served via shuttle train to/from Secaucus Junction/Hoboken and Meadowlands Rail Station. There is no direct Rail service to Meadowlands Station from any other rail line or station.
Trenton NJ, Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean’s bipartisan legislation to establish the ‘Gateway Development Corporation’ has been signed into law. The commission will oversee planning, funding and construction of new rail tunnels and other projects that will double trans-Hudson rail capacity and provide one-seat rides to Manhattan on all NJ Transit lines.
“Constructing the Gateway Tunnel is critical to serving the growing number of New Jersey commuters, as well as creating jobs and securing long-term economic growth,” said Kean (R-21). “The Gateway Program will increase NJ Transit rail capacity to and from New York Penn Station by 70,000 riders a day and enable NJ Transit to provide direct one-seat rides to Manhattan, including on the Raritan Valley Line. I will continue to be a vocal advocate to ensure New Jerseyans have a dependable, affordable, and safe mass-transit service.”

Glen Rock NJ, Two (2) individuals were seriously injured in a head on motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Rock Road, Glen Rock in the early morning hours of Saturday, 07/13. Both victims were transported by ambulances to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Lincoln Avenue was closed between Rock Road and Van Winkle Avenue, Hawthorne for an extended period during a post accident investigation and clean up process. Glen Rock Police was assisted by Hawthorne Police and Ridgewood Police at the scene. A crash related vehicle fire was extinguished by Glen Rock Fire; Hawthorne FD also aided in fire suppression efforts. Glen Rock EMS and and hospital based paramedic teams also responded to the incident. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crime Scene Unit helped collected visual and physical evidence at the scene. Both vehicles involved in the crash, a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 4-door Nissan Sedan, were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

Ridgewood NJ, Temperatures are rising for commuters this summer on NJ Transit trains. Riders are angry about the agency’s failure to keep the trains moving as scheduled.
A protest by engineers upset by what they say is a contract violation by Transit is leading to an increase in cancelled trains. The employees are
refusing to work their scheduled days off, leaving riders stranded on station platforms.
Trenton NJ, A massive infrastructure project that would relieve rail congestion between Newark and New York City has been sidetracked for almost a decade by funding uncertainties and political posturing. But legislation passed Tuesday by the Assembly Appropriations Committee may be crucial to finally advancing the long-awaited Gateway tunnel construction.
The bill (A5570) creates the Gateway Development Commission, a two-state
agency with New York to precipitate the completion of the Gateway Program transportation projects. After clearing the committee with a 10-0 vote, the bill will be considered by the Assembly tomorrow.
Ridgewood NJ, according to the Village Manager Heather Mailander the milling of the train station parking lot has been completed; however, it took longer than anticipated. Therefore, the paving of the lot will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Both the train station parking lot and the adjacent lot (with an entrance by MacMurphy’s) will be closed until about 6:00 p.m. There will be parking spaces delineated on Saturday, with the final striping of the spaces being done on Monday, June 17, 2019. Please make other parking arrangements.
The end result of the construction will be approximately 35 additional parking spaces in the train station lot. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the construction.

The work, which will lead to improved conditions for travelers, will be conducted throughout the state from the north end with projects at Newark Penn Station and Portal Bridge to the southern portion of the state with projects in Trenton. This extensive work and significant financial investment serve as the latest example of the cooperative relationship between NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak to enhance the customer experience for both commuter and intercity rail customers.
