Paramus NJ, Paramus Councilman Chris Di Piazza, a candidate for General Assembly in NJ’s 38th Legislative District and former NJ National Committeeman to the National Young Republican Federation, offered the following statement in response to his vote against the 2019 Paramus municipal budget increase, which will saddle taxpayers with a triple digit property tax hike on the average household assessment.

Three Car Collision on Soldier Hill Road Sends One to the Hospital

Paramus NJ, A three (3) vehicle, Thursday morning, 06/27, collision at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Soldier Hill Road in Emerson resulted in one (1) injury requiring ambulance transport to a local hospital. Paramus Rescue extricated an adult female from a Nissan Rogue involved in the incident. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and Paramus Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The Nissan’s driver refused medical attention. Occupants of all other vehicles involved were uninjured.

Valley Hospital gets approval for $735M project in Paramus

Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Hospital received approval from the state planning committee June 6 to build a seven story, 362-bed replacement hospital, according to the North Jersey Record.

The new hospital, expected to be completed in 2023, will have single-patient rooms and a five-story parking garage. It will be in Paramus, N.J., about 2.5 miles from the hospital’s current location in Ridgewood.

Rezoning, building and equipping the new hospital is expected to cost $735 million.

Multiple Vehicle Crash on 17 South Sends Several Victims to Area Hospitals

Paramus NJ, A multiple vehicle crash with multiple injuries slowed traffic on Route 17 southbound at Midland Avenue, Paramus on Tuesday night, 05/07 between 2130 and 2230 hours. Four (4) vehicles were involved according to Paramus Police. Two (2) of those were towed from the scene. Paramus EMS sent two (2) ambulances to transport victims to nearby hospitals. All travel lanes of the highway were closed with southbound traffic allowed to pass on the right shoulder only until the wrecks were removed from the roadway. Access to Route 17 southbound from Midland Avenue westbound was blocked while emergency responders worked at the scene.

SUV Ends Up In the Woods Near Ikea Drive in Paramus

Paramus NJ, The adult male driver of a dark colored SUV lost control of his vehicle while exiting Route 4 eastbound at Ikea Drive in Paramus, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a nearby wooded area, and a massive retaining wall. The incident occurred late Monday afternoon, 04/29. An adult female passenger in the SUV sustained a non life threatening head injury; two (2) children and the vehicle’s adult male driver were uninjured. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS responded to the mishap along with two (2) members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Regional SWAT Team (who just happened to be driving by the scene).

Ridgewood NJ, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of NATHAN W. GLOTZER (DOB: 9/7/1952; married; employed as an Environmental Health Specialist) of 8 South Farview Avenue, Apartment A, Paramus, New Jersey, on the charge of Possession of Child Pornography, greater than 1,000 files. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

Paramus Farmers Market Every Wednesday from May 29th

Paramus NJ, The Paramus Farmers’ Market runs Wednesdays from May 29th thru October 16th from 2:00pm to 7:00pm for the 2019 season.

It is held at the North Parking lot of Petruska Park, located at 475 Farview Avenue (North of Midland Avenue). They will have 23 vendors including Ventimiglia Vineyards, Fontanarosa Ravioli, Pickeliscous, Empanada Mania, The Guac Spot, Hensler Farms, BANG Cookies, Mortgage Apple Cakes, and more.
