Trenton NJ, As the Democrat-controlled Legislature advances their $38.7 billion budget without Gov. Murphy’s controversial millionaire’s tax, the likelihood of a government shutdown over the proposed spending plan increases. Murphy and union leaders held a press conference yesterday to pressure lawmakers to include the tax on those making over $1 million, but their efforts remain unsuccessful.

“The Democrats refuse to back down and the governor has said he is leaving all options on the table in order to get his tax hike. The fighting continues and the budget deadline is getting closer, which means so is a shutdown,” said Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi who sponsors legislation to prevent a government shutdown.

Trenton NJ, Behind its continued call for no more taxes and for structural reforms as part of the FY2020 State Budget, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association today re-released its budget data from this year to further underscore why the Garden State desperately needs to reverse course.

“With less than two weeks remaining before the state’s budget deadline, it’s imperative that our policymakers fully understand New Jersey’s fiscal standing,” said NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka. “New Jersey’s debt and pension obligations continue to escalate at unsustainable rates and the FY2019 State Budget alone forced $1.6 billion in higher taxes on our businesses and residents.

Phil Murphy

It is clear that democratic policies no longer exist. In their stead we have an oligarchy of business interests and socialists. A match made in hell indeed.

The business interests want continued expansion of the consumer economy not by making better products or paying better salaries, but rather by taking away consumers’ ability to not buy their product. Think sickcare and college as top performers.

River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi sets the governor straight on property taxes, SALT deductions and irresponsible spending in the state of New Jersey .

Schepisi said on Facebook ,” I have a novel idea, why don’t we retain some of the top tax advisors, tax attorneys and CPAs in the country to rewrite NJ’s tax code to lessen our property tax burden while figuring out a better way to fund our schools and take advantage of the new federal tax code? We spend millions fighting Trump’s policies, why don’t we invest those monies into making our own tax situation a little more tolerable.
