Ridgewood NJ, Commuters and residents near the Ridgewood-Glen Rock border should prepare for upcoming utility work as Ridgewood Water kicks off a critical infrastructure project. Starting next week, crews will begin connecting a local well to the Prospect PFAS Treatment Facility in Glen Rock.

Drainage Ditch Near Stevens Field in Ridgewood Gets a Much Needed Clean Out

Ridgewood NJ, thanks to the residents who were proactive and the crew for getting it done.  According the Village Manager Keith Kazmark , following resident requests, the Streets Division recently cleaned out the drainage ditch which runs parallel to the PSE&G right-of-way near Stevens Field. This will improve water flow during heavy rain events.

Brush Fire Along the PSE&G right-of-way Near Prospect Street in Glen Rock Quickly Contained

Glen Rock NJ, An early Saturday afternoon, 10/02, brush fire along the PSE&G right-of-way near Prospect Street in Glen Rock was quickly contained and extinguished by Glen Rock police officers and firefighters. A nearby homeowner using a garden hose also assisted in fighting the blaze, which generated a large amount of smoke, but caused very little damage. Neighbors reported hearing at least one (1) explosion just prior to noticing smoke coming from the area. No PSE&G electric transmission equipment appeared to have been damaged in the conflagration, nor were there any injuries reported. Ridgewood firefighters assisted their Glen Rock counterparts in ensuring the area was completely free of “hot spots.”

High winds topple utility poles along PSE&G right of way near of 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ,  High winds toppled at least two (2) utility poles along a PSE&G right of way in the rear of 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood late Wednesday afternoon, 04/04. The right of way, which supports high tension electric lines running between sub stations in Fair Lawn and Waldwick, abuts a popular athletic field complex and running/walking track. Ridgewood Police, Fire Department, and Emergency Services personnel responded to make the area safe until PSE&G Electric Division crews could arrive to repair the damage.
