Ridgewood falls to Piscataway at MetLife Stadium

In a FINAL at the North Jersey Group 5 Bowl Game at MetLife Stadium on Saturday morning Piscataway 31 Ridgewood 21. Ridgewood scoring Will Cardew 26 yard TD run, McDermott 27 yard pass TD catch James Miller 2 pt conversion & James Hogan 1 PAT .

Ridgewood Senior Running Back Will Cardew has now passed Brian Mercer (2004) as the single season all time rushing leader at Ridgewood High School.

Ridgewood Football ended the 2018 season as New Jersey North 1 Group V State Champions with an Overall 10-3 / Division 6-0 vs TOUGHEST public school schedule in New Jersey and NJSFC Liberty Red Division Champ.

Ridgewood NJ, In case you missed it, the parent of a 9-year old addressed BOE members during the public comment portion of Monday evening’s meeting and revealed that her son and one of his classmates were, and still are, able to surf porn and other “age inappropriate” videos using their school issued Chrome Books, via the school’s WiFi network, and during school hours.

Ridgewood NJ, Opportunity for support: RHS DECA is selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts as a fundraiser for their chapter. The deadline to order is Friday, November 30 at 10 p.m. Krispy Kreme will be available for pick up at RHS from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, December 7 or they can be delivered later that day to your house. Doughnuts are sold in dozens and are all one kind (original and flavored options available and detailed in the form). ?? Original glazed are $10 per dozen and the flavored doughnuts are $12 per dozen. Ridgewood NJ, Congratulations to the RHS football team on a huge playoff win over Montclair 27-7. Ridgewood football is the 2018 Group 5 North 1 New Jersey Sectional State Champion! 2nd State Championship in the last 3 years!

RHS Marching Band Recieves “Cadets Award of Excellence”

Ridgewood NJ, This past weekend the RHS Marching Band placed second out of 19 bands at the USBands National Championships Competition, held in Allentown, PA, with a score of 95.8375. The band was also awarded the “Cadets Award of Excellence” in recognition of the band’s creativity, performance, overall effect, and professionalism on and off the field.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School Senior Kathryn Zhou and her team participated in the 2018 New Jersey Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology (GSET) at Rutgers University and won the Best Paper Award at the 2018 IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC). Way to go Kathryn!

Are you sure that was the word you wanted to use when referring to 13 yr old little girls?
Do you know what today is ? It’s the international Day of the Girl !
By using the word sexting you are re victimizing the victims.
Sometimes you need to think before you quickly react and send these emails
I recall when there was a horrible fight between two boys your email was void of the incident that started it …. that being the a forward of a nude photo of one of their girlfriends…. why no mention of “sexting” then ? Maybe had the dialogue been opened then none of this would have occurred ???????
To re victimize a victim is shaming them. They are little girls !
Did you forget about the media 5 yrs ago all over the HS bc of the Ridgewood nudes post ….. I don’t recall you calling that sexting !
This is a sad situation and should be treated as such for the victims and they should all learn from it in a sensitive manner

Ridgewood NJ,  sources tell the Ridgewood blog that in September 2018 a member of the Ridgewood Girls Varsity Tennis Team  posted a derogatory unsportsmanlike photo on social media of a Ramapo High School Girls  varsity tennis player . Despite complaints from Ramapo School representatives and parents , the Ridgewood High School administration has done nothing and according to sources  acted like nothing ever happened.

Chuck Johnson Gets his 270th Career Win ,as Ridgewood Gets past Passaic Tech

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Maroons got the better of a fumble exchange in the fourth quarter to overcome a 13-10 deficit and pull out a 24-13 win over Passaic Tech. The win was the 270th win for Ridgewood coach Chuck Johnson’s 41-year career (235th at Ridgewood) and the Maroons improved their record to 2-1 on the season and also picked up their first division win after playing two independent games. eer Wins as Ridgewood will look to get a third straight win next Friday when they head to Bauerle Field in Paterson to take on Eastside.

The RHS principal put a great deal of personal sweat equity into the numerical success of that “nineteen minutes hate” session on the front lawn of the school last year. As the event was transpiring, he was milling about with the assembled journalists and videographers, childishly urging them to report the fake news “official number”, i.e., that fully 1,000 students refused to take instruction and skipped out on class en masse to bash the second amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Long Time Ridgewood Lacrosse Coach Resigns !

Ridgewood NJ, longtime RHS girls lacrosse coach Karla Mixon, has resigned leaving Ridgewood’s top girls lacrosse program. She stepped down after 18 seasons at Ridgewood. Mixon took over the varsity squad in 2001 leading to a 337-59 career record, Mixon sent dozens of players to the Division I level and produced several All-Americans. Under Mixon the Maroons won six state championships under Mixon and won all 14 Bergen County titles since the event began.

Mixon also led her team to a pair of wins in the Tournament of Champions in 2010 and 2011 and this past June, the Maroons reached the Tournament of Champions final and ended the year ranked No. 21 by US Lacrosse Magazine. Mixon leaves Ridgewood as the Number 1-ranked team with seven returning starters and at least nine college-bound players.

Down down down we go. We don’t need the cosmetic devices. “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!”
How about spending some money on education instead of fancy finishes? No college asks “How beautiful was your school?” They ask “What did you learn there?” How many 3-D printers does Ridgewood own? How many students take the AP exams? How do they do? How many students who don’t wish to go to college but need education in more manual skills have that opportunity? We had all this up until the 80’s? We were very highly ranked in the 70’s, slightly lower in the 80’s, and as close to the bottom of current schools as we can get currently. Next year we well may be off of the charts.
