Ridgewood NJ, What was supposed to be a night of celebration turned into a evening of emergency responses in Bergen County. Following the last-minute cancellation of Ridgewood’s traditional July 4th fireworks display, a fast-moving and incredibly intense thunderstorm swept through the Village early Saturday evening, leaving a trail of property damage, downed utility poles, and snapped wires in its wake.

Ridgewood Storm Alert: Flooding and Downed Trees Shut Down Key Roads

The “one-two punch” of heavy rain and powerful wind gusts has left its mark on Ridgewood this Saturday morning. Following the severe storm that battered the region on Friday, December 19, 2025, Village crews are working overtime to clear debris and reopen local thoroughfares.

Ridgewood NJ, Village Manager Keith Kazmark confirmed that the storm’s intensity felled numerous trees and triggered significant flooding, particularly in low-lying areas along the Saddle River.
