Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services wants to congratulate the 11 Ridgewood High School Volunteer members on their graduation from Ridgewood High School.

Captain Corrine Scarpa said that this is a “group of students that we are very proud of, one of our largest groups graduating in recent years. These members will be attending such colleges as: Rutgers, Quinnipiac University, University of South Carolina, Villanova University, Cornell University, NYU, and George Washington University. They were the recipients of many awards and honors at the Graduation.”

Ridgewood NJ, The striping of the parking spaces in the train station parking lot will take place tomorrow, June 22nd, from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 12:00 Noon.  The train station parking lot will be closed during this time period, but as soon as the striping is finished, it will be opened.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services congratulates Volunteer EMT Alexander Melarti on becoming an Eagle Scout. This is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Alex will graduate with Honors this week from Ridgewood High School and attend Cornell University this fall.

A spokesmen for Ridgewood Emergency Services said , “We are proud to have Alex as a volunteer member of our department as an EMT and know that he will continue to grow, help mentor our younger generation EMTs, and give back to his community. We wish him the very best as he starts this next chapter in his life.”

Trenton NJ, A massive infrastructure project that would relieve rail congestion between Newark and New York City has been sidetracked for almost a decade by funding uncertainties and political posturing. But legislation passed Tuesday by the Assembly Appropriations Committee may be crucial to finally advancing the long-awaited Gateway tunnel construction.

The bill (A5570) creates the Gateway Development Commission, a two-state agency with New York to precipitate the completion of the Gateway Program transportation projects. After clearing the committee with a 10-0 vote, the bill will be considered by the Assembly tomorrow.

Forbes Names Valley Health One of New Jersey’s Top Employers

COMMUTER ALERT: Starting Monday, some NJ TRANSIT lines will no longer run into New York City and will be diverted in Hoboken

Ridgewood NJ, Beginning June 17, 2019, NJ TRANSIT will be temporarily diverting select Midtown Direct rail service on the Montclair-Boonton Line and one North Jersey Coast Line train to Hoboken, in order to accommodate vital Amtrak repair work that will take two tracks at Penn Station New York (PSNY) out of service. Other temporary service adjustments will include Morris & Essex Line Midtown Direct trains no longer stopping at Newark Broad Street station during the morning and evening peak periods, and a limited number of Midtown Direct reverse-peak trains will operate from Hoboken.
