Ridgewood is committed to working with our neighbors and cutting costs through shared service agreements. The use of our styrofoam condenser at the Ridgewood recycling center is a great example. Sharing with Glen Rock, Twp. of Washington , Garfield and soon Ho-Ho-Kus, all five communities can reap the benefit of one piece of equipment while helping the environment at the same time.

Former Village employee allegedly forces entry into closed Recycling Center

Ridgewood NJ, A former Village of Ridgewood employee allegedly forced his way into the Village’s East Glen Avenue Recycling Center on Wednesday afternoon and was being sought by Ridgewood police officers for questioning in connection with the incident. The Recycling Center was closed at the time due to construction taking place at the Ridgewood Water treatment facility next door.  Reportedly, the individual forced his way through a closed gate at approximately 2:30 PM and entered the facility despite being ordered no to do so by an on-duty Village employee.  While inside, the suspect allegedly removed recyclable materials from his truck and threw them on the ground as he engaged in a verbal argument with the Recycling Center employee.  Police were notified, but the individual had fled the scene prior to their arrival.  Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact the Ridgewood Police Department at 201-652-3900.

RIDGEWOOD RECYCLING CENTER CLOSURE – Closed August 21, 22, 23

Ridgewood NJ, Please be advised, the Water Company’s contractor will be constructing a sanitary sewer connection from a manhole in East Glen Avenue up the entrance driveway to the Recycle/ Water/ Parks facilities starting Wednesday, August 21, 2019.  Work will start around 6:30AM and run until the connection is out of the East Glen Avenue road right of way.  East Glen Avenue will be closed during the connection trenching.  Village Police Traffic Control Officers will be present at the road closures and at the entrance driveway for motorists safety.

THE RECYCLING CENTER will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday ( August 21, 22, 23) while the pipe is laid up to the Water Department facility.

RIDGEWOOD RECYCLING CENTER WILL BE CLOSED AUGUST 15 & 16, 2018

Ridgewood NJ, The Village Recycling Center will be closed to the public on Wednesday, August 15th and Thursday, August 16th, for the installation of electrical conduit to facilitate a new cardboard compactor. The closure is necessary to protect the safety of the public and the Village Staff during this work. The new compactor will replace the garbage truck that is currently utilized, providing a more efficient and sustainable method of disposal for this recyclable.

DROP OFF YARD WASTE AT RECYCLING CENTER

Ridgewood NJ, The Recycling Center (behind the Fire House on E. Glen) has changed the times they are able to accept yard waste. Yard waste will be accepted at this location Monday through Friday from 12Noon to 3pm and Saturday from 8am to 3pm.  Yard waste will also be picked up at the curb on the schedule printed in the Village Calendar or listed in My Village Services.

SHRED DAY – RIDGEWOOD RECYCLING CENTER – SATURDAY, APRIL 9

Saturday, April 9th from 9am to 12:30pm, rain or shine, at Ridgewood Recycling Center , behind the Fire House, 201 E. Glen Avenue – unwanted documents and papers will be safely recycled for free. You can watch on camera as documents are securley shredded.  There is a limit of five (5) file size boxes per vehicle.

Place items in a paper bag or cardboard box only. No plastic bags.  FREE to all Ridgewood residents and Ridgewood businesses.

This is an opportunity to to safely dispose of cancelled checks, computer printouts, envelopes, letterhead, etc.
