Ridgewood Traffic Stop Results Arrest of Mailbox Phishing Operati

Ridgewood NJ, On January 10, Lt. Brian Pullman conducted a motor vehicle stop on South Maple Avenue for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation a 24 year-old male from Paterson, N.J. and a 21 year-old male from Paterson, N.J. were discovered to be in possession of stolen property and arrested at the scene. Both were arrested at the scene and transported to Ridgewood Police headquarters.

The Ridgewood Detective Bureau continued the investigation and both males were charged with trafficking of personal identifying information, conspiracy to commit trafficking of personal identifying information, and receiving stolen property. One male arrestee was transported to the Bergen County Jail after the completion of the investigation and the other released on a complaint summons and released with a pending court date. Both were determined to have been mailbox phishing and stealing checks from various mailboxes within the Village of Ridgewood and other jurisdictions.

Driver provides false identification at Ridgewood Traffic Stop

Ridgewood NJ, On 9/3/17, Ptl. Kyle Monton conducted a motor vehicle stop on Godwin Avenue and the driver provided false identification to Ptl. Monton. Upon further investigation, the male driver, 37-years-old of Passaic, N.J. was arrested at the scene, transported to Ridgewood Police headquarters and charged with hindering apprehension. The arrestee was issued a complaint summons, three traffic summons and released with a pending court date.
