Paramus NJ The uninjured driver of a white colored, BMW, 4-door sedan with NY license plates was taken into custody by Paramus Police after his vehicle crashed head on into a utility pole on Route 17 northbound near Powers Drive, Paramus on Sunday morning, 06/24. The right travel lane and right hand shoulder were closed following the crash to facilitate repairs to the damaged utility pole and electric/communications cables. The wrecked BMW was removed from the scene by flatbed tow truck.

Midland Park NJ, A downed tree blocked a section of North Monroe Street in Midland Park and Ridgewood on Sunday morning, 09/03. Midland Park Police and Ridgewood Police responded to the incident along with Ridgewood Emergency Services. The tree was removed by an employee of the Village of Ridgewood’s Shade Tree Division. No injuries, property damage, nor utility outages were reported,

Daylight Savings Time Officially Begins at 2 am Sunday Morning

Ridgewood NJ, tonight is the night for Ridgewood to spring forward! Officially Daylight saving time 2017 in New Jersey will begin at 2:00 AM on Sunday March 12th.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from standard time during the summer months, and back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural daylight.

Ridgewood firefighters Respond to a Sunday Morning kitchen fire in the Village

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in the village late Sunday morning, and quickly extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported but there was some damage to the home owners kitchen .

According to the Ridgewood News ,”Ridgewood Fire department was on the scene at the Beveridge Road residence at 11:22 a.m., said Ridgewood Fire Department Capt. Scott Schmidt.The kitchen “cooking” fire damaged several appliances and cabinetry, he said. But it was contained to that room and didn’t spread to the rest of the home, Schmidt said, so the house is habitable”.https://www.northjersey.com/news/ridgewood-firefighters-put-out-two-alarm-blaze-1.1368988

Again from the Ridgewood News ,”Firefighters had the fire under control very quickly, and were done at the scene shortly after noon, Schmidt said.
