Ridgewood NJ,  the Ridgewood blog has reported this scam in several communities, including Ridgewood and Upper Saddle River. Fraudsters in New Jersey have devised a new and alarming tactic to deceive residents, prompting concern from law enforcement. Scammers are now impersonating real police officers when calling unsuspecting victims, threatening them with jail time for allegedly missing jury duty unless they make immediate payments.

Warrant Scam Reported in Upper Saddle River

Upper Saddle River NJ, the Ridgewood blog has previous reported this in Ridgewood , now the Upper Saddle River Police Department have received reports that residents in nearby municipalities have been receiving scam phone calls from people purporting to be police officers. The caller(s) are utilizing the actual names of officers in local departments and are claiming to have warrants for the residents that they are calling. If you receive a similar call do not provide the caller with any of your personal information or attempt to send them money or funds of any type. The Upper Saddle River Police Department will not call residents in refence to any warrant and will never request money to be sent to satisfy a warrant. If you received one of these calls please disregard it. Please contact the police department only if you received one of these calls and provided personal information or provided the caller with funds of any type.

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police department,  No, you probably don’t have a warrant out for your arrest. If you do, the Ridgewood Police promise that a member of the Police Department isn’t calling you demanding money in lieu of an arrest.
