Ridgewood NJ, To help limit the spread of the Coronavirus, many states are requiring people to wear face coverings in places open to the public. But there are cards circulating online and on social media that say the holder has a disability that prevents them from wearing a mask, and that it’s illegal for any business to ask them to disclose their condition. Variations of the card include the seal of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), one of the federal agencies responsible for enforcing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The fact is, these cards aren’t issued or endorsed by DOJ, or any other federal agency. DOJ urges the public not to rely on the information contained in these postings, and to visit ADA.gov for ADA information issued by the agency.

The truth is that there is no law requiring face masks. There are some executive orders that can’t legally be enforced. Businesses are free to not require masks but many business owners don’t know this. So cards like this can help. They are not scams. The card in the photo warns a business operator that it could be the subject of a civil lawsuit. So it would be smart to let the person in without a mask.
Stop being a Covidiot. Masks are to help you prevent spreading germs and virus to others. It’s not about you, even though apparently you think it’s only about you. Grow up.
The masks are all well and good. But the problem is our hands are so dirty. Think about the things that are so dirty.
1- money
2- aTMs machines and cards
3- keys
4- door handles door knobs
5- sell phones
6- water fountains
7- our shoes
8- silverware , shot glasses
9- some restrooms , At some restaurants they are spotless, but at some they are disgusting.
10-For us all timers remember the old payphones and telephone box oh my god what a filthy.
I’m sure some of you can add to the list.
So wash your hands more often and wipe all of the above frequently with alcohol or sanitizer wipes! Don’t wear your shoes indoors. And wear a mask !

Please turn off CNN and do little reading about immunology. Face masks in public will not help spread the virus or further lower the death rate, which is less than 1% of those infected. The governor has no more constitutional authority to direct all people to wear face masks than he does to direct all people to solute red heads, though a version of that may be coming and there would likely be just as many automatons to go along. Please learn to read and reason so you can arrive at some truths that are counterintuitive. A grown up has this responsibility.

Based on the economic effects of earlier lockdowns, the Goldman economists estimate that a face mask mandate could potentially avert lockdowns that would otherwise cuts almost 5% from GDP.

The people carrying these cards and trying to impose their lies and deceit on their fellow citizens are the ones doing the misleading. All you are doing is making a mockery of Americans with disabilities in the name of your selfish stupidty. Shame on you!
It’s not inconsiderate to not wear masks because mild expose to the virus builds antibodies. And if enough people develop antibodies then we develop herd immunity and it’s really the only way we can. There has never been an effective vaccine for a corona because the virus mutates. But a lot of people are doing themselves harm by wearing masks. They are cutting off their oxygen supply and weakening their immune system. Yes it makes me angry that so many people are so easily misled.
I’d rather listen to the experts than your quack “herd immunity” theories. Look what happened in Sweden. A cloth face covering may not protect the wearer, but it may keep the wearer from spreading the virus to others even if they are asymptomatic.
