Ridgewood NJ, despite years of progressive activism, a majority of Americans still don’t buy into the “woke” narrative that white people have a monopoly on racism.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 79% of American Adults agree with the statement, “Black people can be racist, too,” including 53% who Strongly Agree. Just 12% disagree, and another 10% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The term “woke” is used to describe someone who is aware of and actively concerned about social and political issues, especially those related to social justice and discrimination. It is often used to describe individuals who have a heightened awareness of issues such as racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression, and who actively work to address these issues in their daily lives.
The term “woke” originated in African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and gained widespread popularity in mainstream culture in the United States during the mid-2010s. It has since been used in a variety of contexts, both positively and negatively, to describe people who are perceived as being socially aware and active in promoting social justice causes.
Vivek Ramaswamy, the “CEO of Anti-Woke Inc.,” is running as a Republican for president of the United States in 2024. The Tech entrepreneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy announced Tuesday that he was entering the 2024 presidential race, becoming the third Republican to do so.
In a video on Twitter, Ramaswamy, 37, said that he was running for president to eliminate the “national identity crisis” he claims was caused by “new secular religions like COVID-ism, climate-ism, and gender ideology.”
“We’ve celebrated our ‘diversity’ so much that we forgot all the ways we’re really the same as Americans,” Ramaswamy said, adding, “I believe deep in my bones those ideals still exist. I’m running for President to revive them.”

DeSantis about Florida: Where ‘Woke’ goes to die.
Also liberty, education, and common sense.
Agreed.
Florida is also the land of Liberty, Education and Common Sense.
Ah yes, the bastion of liberty that is currently banning books and AP courses.
Yup. Makes sense.
lol
So you prefer grooming children and the anti-science stance that men are women and vice versa just by declaration?
Got it.
But on the upside . . . Florida has one of the highest crime rates of any state. Good job DeSantis!
Florida has a higher crime rate than some other states, but it does not have the highest crime rate in the United States. Crime rates can vary widely from state to state and even within different areas of the same state.
According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program, which collects data on crimes reported to law enforcement agencies across the country, Florida’s overall crime rate in 2020 was higher than the national average. However, there were several states with higher crime rates than Florida in 2020, including Alaska, New Mexico, and Tennessee.
It’s worth noting that crime rates can be influenced by a variety of factors, including demographics, economic conditions, and law enforcement practices. Therefore, it’s important to consider these factors when comparing crime rates across different states or regions.
Drill down.
All of the high crime in Florida are in the Democrat run cities.
These cities skew the state’s results.
Has no one noticed that the people who criticize those who are “woke” have their own version of political correctness and are willing to shut down anyone who doesn’t believe what they believe. Why is this somehow better?
no idea what you are talking about
