Nurse Practitioner Charged with Fraudulently Obtaining and Signing Prescriptions for Oxycodone and Adderall

Paramus NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MATHEW TESTINO (DOB: 10/29/1970; single; licensed nurse practitioner) of 9 June Ct, River Edge, NJ on drug-related offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

During March 2021, an investigation initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force revealed that MATHEW TESTINO, a nurse practitioner who operated Bergen Neurology and Pain Management located at 230 E. Ridgewood Ave, Paramus, NJ, and later at 480 Market St., Suite 2, Saddle Brook, NJ was involved in fraudulently obtaining and signing prescriptions on approximately thirty separate occasions for substances including oxycodone and adderall. These prescriptions were subsequently filled, totaling several thousand fraudulently obtained oxycodone and adderall pills.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, MATHEW TESTINO turned himself into the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. MATHEW TESTINO was charged with one count of second-degree distribution of oxycodone, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(4); thirteen counts of third-degree distribution of adderall, N.J.S.A 2C:35-5b(13); eleven counts of third-degree distribution of oxycodone, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(5); one count of third-degree obtaining CDS by fraud, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-13; and one count of third-degree uttering a forged document, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-1a(3).

TESTINO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
